Great use of knots in the Burberry Prorsum s/s 10 collection (especially those super-chunky ones.) The shape of the platform sole and heel are nicely angular which provides a contrast to the upper.

Love seeing the crazy variations in the Miu Miu s/s 10 shoe range everyone has been going ape shit over. It's like a study in genetics and mutations. I'm especially a fan of the clog sandals in blue & white (top row) possibly just because I haven't come across them before. Big thanks to Emma at Rag Pony blog for putting in the hard yards in googling all these shoes.

Chau Har Lee graduated from Cordwainers in 2002 and recently completed her MA in Footwear Design from the Royal College of Art. After graduating Ms. Lee worked for notable companies such as Burberry, Nicole Farhi and Georgina Goodman. Chau uses stainless steel, walnut wood, acrylic and leather to create these wearable works of art. I tought I would post about the very photogenic footwear from Yves Saint Laurent s/s 09, considering how popular and copied they have become (especially the boot.) Most of the rip-offs and YSL themselves offer the shoe with a standard thin heel but these, with the thick caged heel, are the only ones worth noting. They are a very good example of a simple idea pushed really far and incredibly well executed.
