Nike Air Max 90 20th Anniversary Snake & Croc Skin

Released about a year ago as part of Nike's Air Max 90 20th Anniversary. There's something so appealing about the contrast of sneakers done in really luxe materials.

Church's "Blondie" Spectators

Sticking with Church's for a moment, here are their "Blondie" spectators from their womens collection. A good look, as can be seen in this photo of Twiggy wearing a pair of similar bespoke spectators from George Cleverley in the early 70's.

A small selection of shoes from the Church's f/w 10 mens range, showing a nice use of buckles.

Veronique Branquinho for Camper Shoes

Collapsable shoe designed by Delvaux creative director Veronique Barnquinho for Camper. I like the lines of the quarters and the colours. Oh, the collapsable thing is cool too.

Off Duty

Brillaint outfit on model Shu Pei Qin. The Dries Van Noten pants with the Miu Miu shoes are too good.

Giuliano Fujiwara f/w 10 Sneakers

I love designer sneakers because they usually have a rather minimalist aesthetic. Giuliano Fujiwara's f/w collection shows this, along with a strong use of block colours and contrasting textures.

Put This On, Episode 2: Shoes

Second episode of Put This On, a style series for men who want to dress like a grownup.

Céline f/w 10

Everyone is wetting their pants over Phoebe Philo's return to fashoin, as design director at Céline since the s/s 10 season. She is a master of design and creates incredibly desirable clothing. This seasons look was quite simple and masculine with most of the crazyness confined to details which can be seen in the use of rabbit fur. I already can't wait for her next collection.

Azzedine Alaia Mesh Heels

It's like shoes with built in underwear. What I like about these is the combination of materials. the pattern of the snakeskin very closely matches the pattern made by the mesh even though they are very different.

Pierre Hardy Mens s/s 10

I took a closer look at Pierre Hardy's s/s range and liked what I saw. Are they slight platforms on those boots? Love it.

Versace s/s 10 Shoes

I've been posting allot of masculine shoes lately so, in the interest of variety, I have decided to create some balance by posting these insane shoes from Versace s/s 10. I think Versace is at its best when it's completely over-the-top and this season they combined their trademark impressive sluttyness with Pierre Hardy Balenciaga-style futurism. The separated layers on the sole are genious. I feel like I just took my space helmet off and my head is going to explode.

Ryusaka Hiruma X Converse s/s 10

I have never seen Chuck Taylors look so luxurious and organic. Here's some info on them from the Converse blog:

Creating coveted versions of Converse’s most recognizable styles, Hiruma has replicated the silhouette of the Chuck Taylor All Star, Jack Purcell and One Star shoes using old-world construction techniques. Each shoe features beautiful, supple leathers –all hand-stitched from upper and rand to insole. Hiruma gives each shoe leather soles that echo finely made dress shoes, yet with ink printed logos and trademark detail that give them a playful, comfortable feeling. Each shoe comes in natural shades of tan, off-white and black leather with hand cut logos and detailing for the shoes uppers. The attention to detail includes elegant hand-stitched leather rands and toe bumpers and charming touches such as a hand-cut star cut out gracing the ends of each shoe’s leather laces.

Raf Simons f/w 10 Sneakers

Raf Simons' sneakers mix futuristic and retro elements which create something that feels very now (funny that.) Here are some of the looks from his f/w 10 collection which use his old silhouettes done in beautiful materials and colourways.
